FAQ · Invoice Collection
What is first-party invoice collection?
First-party invoice collection is when a business follows up on its own unpaid invoices — either directly or through an agent acting in the business's name. It is distinct from third-party collection, where a separate agency buys the debt or works on commission as an external collector. First-party collection is not governed by the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), which applies only to third-party collectors. This matters practically: the tone of the conversation is collaborative rather than adversarial, the client relationship is preserved, and the legal compliance requirements are simpler. Syntharra operates exclusively as a first-party agent — every call is placed on behalf of your business, using your business name.
