How to think about this comparison
InvoiceSherpa has been around long enough to have a real customer base in QuickBooks-land. The product schedules email reminders, hosts a customer portal, and integrates payment processing. It is a perfectly fine email-and-portal tool, particularly for shops that are happy with the emails-and-link approach to AR. Syntharra is not the same shape of product. We do not host a portal, we do not schedule emails, and we do not process payments through our own system. We make the phone call and route the recovered payment through Stripe Connect into your account. The two tools coexist comfortably: keep InvoiceSherpa for the email layer, add Syntharra underneath for the call that happens at day three past due if email alone is not closing.
When InvoiceSherpa is the better choice
InvoiceSherpa is a fine email-and-portal tool. Syntharra is the layer that handles the customers who never engaged with the email or the portal. The two stack; they do not compete on the same surface.
This is Syntharra's own first-party positioning, not a third-party endorsement. We publish it here so the trade-offs stay explicit.
Questions shops ask when picking between us and InvoiceSherpa
Is Syntharra a replacement for InvoiceSherpa?
Not exactly. We do not send email reminders and we do not host a customer portal. If your AR problem closes on a third polite email and a hosted pay link, InvoiceSherpa is doing its job and adding Syntharra is overkill. If you already have the email layer and the past-dues are still piling up, that is exactly the gap we fill.
Why does Syntharra not host a customer portal?
Because we think the portal is mostly a substitute for the conversation. The agent confirms the amount, takes a card or sends a pay link by SMS, and the call ends. We do not need a separate logged-in surface for the customer to manage anything; everything happens on the call or in your dashboard.
Does Syntharra send email reminders too?
No. Email-led products are good at email and we are not trying to be one of them. We focus on the phone-call step that the email products cannot deliver. If you do not have an email layer at all, your accounting system probably already has a basic reminder feature; start there or pair us with a tool like InvoiceSherpa.
How does the cost compare?
InvoiceSherpa is a tiered monthly subscription paid regardless of recovery. Syntharra is a 10 percent success fee with no monthly minimum, no setup fee, and no contract. For shops below their highest InvoiceSherpa tier, the math is straightforward: if you recover less in a month than the subscription costs, Syntharra was cheaper.
Can I run both at the same time?
Yes. The two tools touch different surfaces — email and portal versus voice and SMS — and we do not write back to your accounting software. Just pause email reminders for an invoice while Syntharra is on a call about it, and pause Syntharra when an invoice is on an InvoiceSherpa-managed payment plan.
Are payments processed through Syntharra?
No. Stripe Connect routes recovered funds directly into your own Stripe account. We do not hold customer funds, we do not act as merchant of record, and the 10 percent success fee is taken automatically at the point of recovery. Your QuickBooks reconciles the same way it would for any Stripe deposit.
